First Friday in downtown Camas set for June 3

Unicorns and rainbows are the theme of this month’s First Friday celebration in downtown Camas.

Organized by the Downtown Camas Association, the monthly event will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3, throughout the city’s historic downtown area, and will feature unicorn and rainbow-themed games and crafts. -en-ciel, a “unicorn and rainbow sticker scavenger hunt,” after-hours shopping, live music, art exhibits, and a 5 p.m. grand opening for the new location of Naturally Healthy Pet at 317 NE Cedar St., Camas.

Visitors to the First Friday Celebration can have their photo taken with a unicorn from 6-7 p.m. near Journey Church, 304 NE Fourth Ave.; participate in a free unicorn-themed craft for kids with Girl Scout Troop #47503 from 5-8 p.m. at LiveWell Camas, 417 NE Birch St.; hear The Departures play at 7 p.m. at A Beer at a Time, 216 NE Third Ave., and Matt Brown perform at 8 p.m. at Birch Street Uptown Lounge, 311 NE Birch St.; and attend art receptions at the Attic Gallery, 421 NE Cedar St. and Camas Gallery, 408 NE Fourth Ave.

Those who dress up in unicorn or rainbow attire will have additional chances to win prizes from participating merchants in downtown Camas.

“Last year was our first ‘Unicorn and Rainbow Sticker Scavenger Hunt,’ and people loved it,” DCA Director Carrie Schulstad said in a press release about the event. event on the first Friday of June. “It’s a great way to explore our downtown shops and have fun with family and friends.
