Historic Downtown Glendale to Host 16th Annual Christmas Event in July

PHOENIX – Christmas is just under six months away, but downtown Glendale’s shops and restaurants are giving people a taste of the festive season.

The 16th annual Christmas in July event takes place on July 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Old Town and Catlin Court shopping and dining districts, according to a press release.

“Many name-brand boutiques, specialty shops and iconic restaurants will be offering festive treats, holiday gift ideas and happy make-and-go crafts,” event organizers said in the release.

Other activities include a holiday-themed charm trail and businesses giving out soup recipe cards, and Photos with Santa from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $5 each.

People can pick up an event map and activity sheet at the Arizona Information Center located at 5836 W. Palmaire Avenue.

Parking is available throughout downtown Glendale and a free shuttle will be available to transport attendees throughout the area, event organizers said.

A collection of back-to-school supplies will also take place. benefiting the Glendale Elementary School District, with necessary supplies including rulers, pencils, glue sticks, #2 pencils, notebook paper and pencil sharpeners.

The event is presented by the Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association in partnership with the downtown business community, according to the release.
