Papasitos and Beer expands to new downtown Lorain

Mexican food lovers will have another option as Papasitos & Beer, 2532 W. Erie Ave. in Lorain, plans to extend its activities to the downtown area of the international city.

The additional location, which is expected to open within the next eight months at 104 W. Fourth St., was decided after great success at the restaurant’s main location overlooking Lake Erie.

Victor Salinan, co-owner and manager of Papasitos & Beer, said he had high hopes for the new establishment.

“With this new location, we’ll be able to get food faster and to more people,” Salinan said, adding that the West Erie Avenue location is often crowded, especially in the summer.

The downtown expansion will be a first for Papasitos since it opened more than five years ago.

Since then, Salinan said he has had great business and enjoys serving the people of Lorain quality Mexican food at affordable prices.

When asked why the move downtown, Salinan said, “We know a few people who own businesses there that are doing good, so we saw the opportunity and took it.”

The new building is located just off Broadway, across from the downtown building.

Salinan also said the building is being offered at a great price for the growing business.

“We have an agreement with the landlords (United Property Management Co.) to pay a monthly lease until we are fully settled,” he said. “They are fixing the building for us; all we need to bring is our equipment and our staff.

Salinan said the new location should also accommodate more of the restaurant’s fulfillment departments which have seen a surge over the past two years thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

“People are just starting to come back and eat, but many are still ordering,” he said. “So we want to be able to accommodate
both.”

Whatever the preference, he said Lorain can expect more good Mexican food at half the wait times, satisfying every last craving.
