Secret Bar Saloni by Meraki opens in downtown Miami

The team behind popular Aegean Downtown Miami restaurant, Meraki Greek Bistro, has launched its latest outpost: Saloni Bar by Merakia European-style bar accessible only through a hidden door in Meraki’s washroom aisle.

Designed to be a complement to its sister restaurant, Saloni leans into big city, industrial decor with a dark, industrial design and dim lighting. The menu emphasizes natural wines from small family vineyards in Greece and Italy, and is highlighted by a selection of over 15 white, orange, red and sparkling wines. The beer selection includes local favorites like J. Wakefield Brewing Company’s El Jefe and La Tropical’s Nativo Key, while a variety of mocktails round out the menu. Next month, it will feature a Greek-inspired cocktail menu by local cocktail consultant Vanessa Serrano.

Executive Chef and Owner Giannis Kotsos’ shareable dishes were inspired by his time in Athens. Diners can expect dishes such as calamari, mini chicken or pork skewers, octopus carpaccio, hummus and crispy zucchini sticks. Heartier dishes like the Greek burger, pita sandwich, fish and chips and salmon skewers can also be found.

Aiming to become a social hub, Saloni Bar offers multiple TVs with plans for national and international sporting events and aggressive daily happy hour specials. Happy hour takes place daily from 4-7 p.m. and includes $1 draft beer shots, $12 pitchers of draft beer, $5 Moscow beer mules, and beer lovers. wine can buy a bottle of natural wine for the price of a glass. Plus, from 5-6 p.m., ladies get free drinks from a selection of beverages. While it was still under construction, the upstairs lounge has a pool table and bar games, such as table football.
